Lord Howe Islands have incredible natural attractions.

Day 1. Saturday 11th October 2025 – Home to Lord Howe Island

Leave the pace of modern life behind as we immerse ourselves in the spectacular surroundings of UNESCO World Heritage-listed Lord Howe Island. We make our way to Gold Coast Airport where we board our flights to Lord Howe Island.

On arrival, we are met by our local host and transferred to our accommodation. We have time to settle into our Accommodation and refresh before we meet again for dinner at the Bowling Club.

Day 2. Sunday 12th October 2025 – Orientation of the Island

We are collected from breakfast for our Half Day Island Tour. This tour gives a fascinating insight into the flora, fauna and unique island way of life.

Our tour includes an explanation of every venue on the island including the waste and recycling centre (which is more interesting than you may imagine!) We will enjoy our Lunch at Coral Café before returning to our accommodation to refresh and rejoin for dinner. Dinner is at the Golf Club.

Day 3. Monday 13th October 2025 - Exploring Lord Howe Island

This morning we take a glass bottom boat trip on the brilliant blue lagoon, which was formed by a natural barrier of 6km of the world's southernmost coral reef. The waters are home to more than 500 species of fish and 90 species of coral. We’ll see beautiful coral outcrops, surging strands of algae, colourful sponges and a wonderful array of fish life as we cruise over Cornets Hole and Erscotts Hole.

Later in the afternoon, we travel to the Museum where we’ll be given a lecture by Ian Hutton. Ian is the curator of the museum and a passionate environmentalist, saying “Living on Lord Howe Island is like living inside a David Attenborough documentary”.

Dinner tonight is at the Coral Café, located in the museum, giving us a chance to look through some of the displays.

Day 4. Tuesday 14th October 2025 - Cruising the Island

We have planned a Coral Viewing with environmental tours today. This two-hour tour focuses on exploring the profuse coral seascape and introduces visitors to some of the more unusual lagoon inhabitants such as the endemic double-header wrasse, stingrays and turtles. This tour provides an optional snorkelling experience at Erscott's Hole, or you can just relax on the boat and view the stunning diversity of this exotic marine location.

After the day’s activities, we have a little time this afternoon to refresh and meet for dinner at the Driftwood Restaurant.

Day 5. Wednesday 15th October 2025 - Gentle Walk/Cruising

We enjoy a Little Island Walk with our guide, who will take us at a comfortable pace allowing a chance for commentary along the way. This afternoon if the weather is good, we will have the opportunity to do our Around Island Cruise. The cruise takes us close to the stunning vertical cliffs of Mount Gower and Mount Lidgbird. We can spot Ball’s Pyramid in the distance on our way around the island. Cruise past the Admiralty Isles, and see the Arch, the Gulch and the Herring Pool. Bird life is in abundance on the island and it’s a great opportunity to see some of them, such as the red-tailed tropic bird, masked boobies, sooty terns and common noddies that nest on the cliffs and outer island.

At 5-5.30 pm, we will be picked up to go see historic movies at the local Community Hall. The movies run for an hour and all proceeds go to the local island school to help students get off the island for an annual excursion. We are having dinner at the Anchorage Restaurant.

Day 6. Thursday 16th October 2025 - Clear Place Exploring

We are starting with a leisurely morning before we meet for Lunch at the Coral Café. In the afternoon our guide will take us on an interesting walking tour to a grassy clearing known as the Clear Place.

There are great views of the south end of the island, including Intermediate Hill and Mt Lidgbird and if the weather is clear, you may also be able to see Ball’s Pyramid in the distance. We learn about the birds, flora, fossils, palms & Tourist Industry, bush tucker & medicine plus snippets of the volcanic & colourful local history & more. Our dinner will be at Coral Café.

Day 7. Friday 17th October 2025 - Exploring Lord Howe Island

Today we have the option for free time. Exploring the Island doing more walks if you feel up to it. Perhaps a fishing tour or simply relax and enjoy the scenery.

We meet for lunch at the Anchorage Restaurant and have our farewell dinner at the Anchorage Hotel.

Day 8. Saturday 18th October 2025 - Homebound

With our bags packed full of memories, we say goodbye to Lord Howe Island. It’s easy to see why this place is so special, with its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful scenery and friendly locals.

We board our flights back to Gold Coast and arrive home from a fantastic holiday.
