Day 1. Tuesday 1 Dec. 26 TOOWOOMBA – BRISBANE AIRPORT – HOBART, D

Your Tasmanian adventure begins as we depart Toowoomba by coach and travel to Brisbane Airport.

After check-in, we board our flight to Hobart, arriving in Australia’s southernmost capital in the early afternoon.Upon arrival, we meet our driver/guide and begin our journey to the “Apple Isle,” the affectionate nickname for Tasmania.

Enjoy a scenic drive to the summit of Mount Wellington (Kunanyi), where spectacular views overlook the city, the Derwent River, and the surrounding wilderness. We then enjoy a brief panoramic sightseeing tour of Hobart, taking in the city’s main highlights from the comfort of our vehicle before transferring to our centrally located accommodation. Dinner at the accommodation.

Day 2. Wednesday 2 Dec. PORT ARTHUR– HARBOUR CRUISE – TASMAN PENINSULA B, MT, D

Today, we travel southeast to the Tasman Peninsula, an area rich in natural beauty and convict history.

We stop at a local l Port Arthur Lavender Farm to savour freshly baked scones with jam and explore the gardens. Next, we visit the Tasmanian Chocolate Foundry for a tasting experience. Upon arrival at the UNESCO-listed Port Arthur Historic Site, we begin with a fully guided walking tour, learning about the lives of convicts, soldiers, and free settlers.

Next, we board a harbour cruise, offering unique waterside views of the site and nearby Isle of the Dead. After the cruise, you may explore restored buildings, ruins, and heritage gardens at your own pace, with the option to purchase lunch at your own cost. We return to Hobart in the early evening, concluding the day with dinner at the hotel.

Day 3. Friday Thursday 3 Dec. Hobart – Richmond – Orford – Swansea – Freycinet Coast B, L, D

This morning, we farewell Hobart and travel north through the historic village of Richmond, home to Australia’s oldest stone bridge.

Enjoy time to explore the quaint shops, bakery, and riverside scenery. We continue along the Great Eastern Drive through Orford, Triabunna, and Swansea, witnessing breathtaking views across Great Oyster Bay towards the Freycinet Peninsula. Enjoy a relaxing vineyard lunch, featuring local wines and regional produce.

Arrive in Bicheno in the late afternoon and check into our coastal accommodation. We meet for dinner.

Day 4. Friday 4 Dec Freycinet National Park – Wineglass Bay Cruise – Bicheno Blowhole B, L, D

Today, we explore one of Tasmania’s most iconic regions.

We begin with a short walk to the Wineglass Bay Lookout, showcasing one of the world’s most photographed beaches. Later, we join Pennicott Wilderness Journeys for a 4.5-hour eco-adventure cruise, travelling along the coastline of Freycinet National Park. Marvel at pink granite cliffs, secluded bays, and the pristine waters of Wineglass Bay. A gourmet lunch is served on board. 

Return to Bicheno with time to visit the Bicheno Blowhole, a spectacular natural seawater geyser. Dinner tonight at the Accommodation.

Day 5. Saturday 5 Dec East Coast – Derby – Little Blue Lake – Scottsdale – Launceston B, D

Today we travel north through Derby, passing the striking Little Blue Lake and the charming town of Scottsdale.

We visit the iconic Pub in the Paddock, set in the picturesque Pyengana region, known for its fresh local produce. Here, we enjoy a leisurely lunch (own expense) surrounded by the stunning rural landscape.

After lunch, we continue our journey through the scenic Pyengana region, taking in the rolling hills, forests, and rivers along the way, before arriving in Launceston by late afternoon.

The day concludes with dinner at our hotel, offering time to relax and reflect on the beautiful landscapes we’ve explored.

Day 6. Sunday 6 Dec Cataract Gorge – Tamar River – Queen Victoria Museum B, L, D

Begin the day at the stunning Cataract Gorge Reserve, only minutes from central Launceston. Enjoy free time to walk the gardens, suspension bridge, or scenic pathways before boarding your 1-hour Tamar River Cruise, showcasing the gorge from the water. Lunch (own expense) is enjoyed at the Cataract Gorge Café.

In the afternoon, we visit the Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk, renowned for its cultural, natural science, and Tasmanian history exhibits.

Day 7. Monday 7 Dec Launceston – Mole Creek Caves – Ashgrove Cheese – Sheffield – Cradle Mountain B, D

We depart Launceston and visit the Mole Creek Caves for a guided underground experience. Continue to Ashgrove Cheese Factory for a tasting stop, followed by a visit to the spectacular murals of Sheffield- opportunity for purchase of lunch. 

Arriving at Cradle Mountain, enjoy free time before tonight’s highlight: we take part in the Devils@Cradle After-Dark Feeding Tour, a rare chance to observe the Tasmanian Devil during its most active hours.

Dinner at the accommodation. 

Day 8. Tuesday 8 Dec Cradle Mountain – Zeehan – Strahan – Evening Theatre B, D

Spend your morning with a guided walk around Dove Lake. We then travel west to Zeehan, once a booming mining town. Here we visit the West Coast Heritage & Mine Centre, a vast museum dedicated to the pioneering history of Tasmania’s rugged west.

Continue to Strahan, a charming harbour town on Macquarie Harbour. Tonight, we attend The Ship That Never Was, a lively and humorous 
theatre performance based on a true escape story.

Dinner at the Accommodation.

Day 9. Wednesday 9 Dec Queenstown Wilderness Railway → Derwent Bridge → Hobart B, L, D

This morning, we board the West Coast Wilderness Railway for a spectacular Wilderness Class experience, travelling through rainforest and historic mining country. Enjoy morning tea and a light lunch onboard.

Departing Queenstown, we journey east across Tasmania’s highlands, stopping at the awe-inspiring Wall in the Wilderness, a monumental hand-carved sculpture series depicting Tasmanian pioneer history.

We arrive back in Hobart in the early evening and enjoy a farewell Dinner.

Day 10. Thursday 10 Dec Hobart – Free Time – Airport Transfer B

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before spending some free time in the CBD of Hobart. Take the opportunity to browse local shops, enjoy a relaxed coffee, explore the waterfront, or visit the morning markets if they are operating.

Later, we transfer to Hobart Airport for our flight to Brisbane Airport. Upon arrival, our coach will be waiting to transfer us back to Toowoomba. As our journey comes to an end, we reflect on the many wonderful experiences and memorable moments shared during our time on the Apple Isle, Tasmania.
