Day 1: Friday, 25 September 2026 – Toowoomba to Tokyo

Our adventure begins! Depart early from Toowoomba and head to Brisbane International Airport for our flight to Japan. Upon arrival, we’ll be transferred to our accommodation in Yokohama for a 2-night stay.

Yokohama was once a small fishing village until the mid-19th century when Commodore Matthew Perry arrived in 1853, prompting Japan to open its borders to foreign trade. Since then, Yokohama has evolved into one of Japan’s most international and lively cities, offering microbreweries, global cuisine, and a vibrant waterfront scene. Enjoy dinner at the hotel and settle in for the night.

Day 2: Saturday, 26 September 2026 – Mt. Fuji & Hakone Day Tour

Today we explore Mt. Fuji, Japan's highest and most sacred mountain. Journey by air-conditioned coach to the 5th Station (weather permitting) and take in the breathtaking alpine scenery.

If access is restricted, we'll visit Oshino Hakkai or another scenic alternative. After a Japanese buffet lunch, continue to the Hakone region for a ride on the Komagatake Ropeway, offering panoramic views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi.

Then, enjoy a cruise on Lake Ashi, a caldera lake formed by volcanic activity. Conclude the day by boarding the Shinkansen (bullet train) back to Tokyo, arriving around 6:00 PM.

Day 3: Sunday, 27 September 2026 – Tokyo City Tour & Cruise Embarkation

After breakfast, enjoy a guided morning tour of Tokyo, exploring a blend of traditional and modern attractions. Visit famous landmarks and vibrant neighborhoods before transferring to the cruise terminal.

Check in to your cabin, explore the ship, and regroup for dinner on board as we begin our 14-day cruise around Japan.

Day 4: Monday, 28 September 2026 – Cruising

A relaxing day at sea as we sail toward Osaka. Enjoy the ship’s amenities, attend enrichment activities, or simply unwind by the pool.

Day 5: Tuesday, 29 September 2026 – Osaka & River Cruise Tour

Explore Osaka, Japan’s commercial powerhouse. Begin with a river cruise passing by Osaka Castle, City Hall, and Twin Towers. Then visit Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, a historic Shinto site now located inland due to land reclamation.

Note: Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. This tour includes walking and is not suitable for those with limited mobility. (Tour included)

Day 6: Wednesday, 30 September 2026 – Kochi

Take a shuttle to Kochi, on the island of Shikoku. Visit Kochi Castle, one of Japan’s original surviving castles, and admire views from the Shimanto River—often called Japan’s last clear stream. Enjoy lunch onboard or explore local eateries.

Optional shore excursions are available (own expenses).

Day 7: Thursday, 1 October 2026 – Hiroshima

Join a History Channel-partnered tour of Hiroshima, beginning at the Peace Memorial Park and Children’s Peace Monument, followed by a visit to the Peace Memorial Museum.

Later, relax in the Shukkeien Gardens, a meticulously designed miniature landscape dating back to 1620.

Day 8: Friday, 2 October 2026 – Cruising the Kanmon Strait

Sail through the Kanmon Strait, a historic and scenic waterway connecting Honshu and Kyushu. Enjoy onboard activities or simply soak in the views. We regroup for dinner together in the evening.

Day 9: Saturday, 3 October 2026 – Busan, South Korea

Explore Busan at your leisure. Visit cultural spots like Gamcheon Cultural Village, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, or Taejongdae Park. Enjoy the beaches or explore the vibrant markets, including the famous Jagalchi Fish Market. Return to the ship for dinner.

Day 10: Sunday, 4 October 2026 – Sakaiminato

Dock at Sakaiminato, a bustling port city known for its connection to manga artist Shigeru Mizuki. Explore the quirky yokai statues around town or opt for additional shore excursions (onboard credit may apply). We regroup for dinner.

Day 11: Monday, 5 October 2026 – Tsuruga

A free exploration day in Tsuruga. Highlights include the peaceful Kehi Shrine and Tsuruga Museum. Dine on grilled seafood at the Nihonkai Sakana Machi fish market. Meals including onboard

Day 12: Tuesday, 6 October 2026 – Toyama

Joining the Toyama Highlights Tour. Visit the stunning Zuiryuji Temple, stroll through Fugan Canal Kansui Park, and experience modern Japanese art at the Suiboku Museum.

Day 13: Wednesday, 7 October 2026 – Sakata

Spend the day exploring Sakata, an opportunity to walk around the city or book a different shore excursion (own expense). famed for its rice warehouses, seafood, and fruit markets. Visit Sankyo Soko Storehouse, Homma Residence, or enjoy a dance show at Sōmarō Tea House. Return to the ship for Lunch / we meet for dinner.

Day 14: Thursday, 8 October 2026 – Aomori

Join the Aomori Highlights Tour. Visit the Nebuta-no-Ie Warasse Museum and see the massive, illuminated floats from the city’s famous festival. Then visit the Showa Daibutsu, a towering 70-foot Buddha statue.

Day 15: Friday, 9 October 2026 – Hakodate

Explore Hakodate at your own pace, capital of Japan’s northern frontier, Hokkaido. Learn about the indigenous Ainu culture or take in the town’s unique mix of Western and Japanese influences.

Day 16: Saturday, 10 October 2026 – Cruising

A full day at sea as we begin our return to Tokyo. Enjoy shipboard entertainment, spa treatments, fitness classes, or some well-earned relaxation. Farewell group dinner this evening.

Day 17: Sunday, 11 October 2026 – Tokyo to Brisbane

Disembark in Tokyo and transfer to the airport for your return flight to Brisbane. Please ensure all belongings are packed and ready for transfer according to ship instructions.

Day 18: Monday, 12 October 2026 – Arrival in Brisbane & Transfer to Toowoomba

Arrive back in Brisbane and transfer by private coach to Toowoomba, concluding your unforgettable Circle Japan journey.
